Meet JJ --
Hey there! Welcome to my corner of the web. I'm JJ, a queer therapist with a background in higher levels of care. My wheelhouse? Problem-focused treatment. I've delved into the complexities of systems, tackling issues like suicidality, self-harm, and trauma head-on. I work mostly with adolescents and young adults, where I prioritize equipping my clients with the skills to navigate challenges before diving into deeper trauma work. It's all about building that foundation for self-regulation first.
I've honed my craft in helping folx navigate interpersonal conflicts, heal attachment wounds, navigate life transitions, cope with grief and loss, and embrace their neurodivergence. I've helped others reduce their anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal ideation while strengthening their personal values and identity.
I'm a firm believer in ongoing education, always hunting for fresh ways to connect with my clients (I'm a sucker for psychoeducation). I lean into and have training in DBT, ACT, CBT, CPT, ERP, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and parts work.
If you’re a teen, young adult, or caregiver facing trauma, attachment struggles, or tough emotions, I get it - and I’m here to help. When we work together, expect a blend of humor, self-expression, and a growth mindset. No "blank slate" here; I bring my authentic self to every session, balancing warmth with professionalism. Outside the therapy room, you'll find me immersed in fashion, practicing yoga, soaking up nature, vibing to live music, and, of course, loving on my dog, Leo.
Let’s take this journey together; reach out when you're ready.
JJ is available for both in-person sessions and sessions via telehealth.
